  A graduate engineer with twenty-seven years of professional experience in quantity surveying and contracts management of highways, bridges, flyovers, interchanges and other civil engineering projects. He has worked in the U.A.E. for twenty two years with leading contracting firms, on major highway and civil engineering projects based on FIDIC conditions. As senior quantity surveyor and contracts manager, he has expertise in rate analysis, processing invoices, preparing variation orders, claims and interpreting contract conditions. He has thorough knowledge of MORTH specifications and other international standards like AASHTO and British Standards.

   

• Madhvesh Yelagalawadi Sethuram

  Experienced for over sixteen years as pavement cum material engineer. He has demonstrable expertise in investigations on pavement material properties for assessing suitability of roads, identification of borrow materials and approval, mix design, testing and approval of bituminous mix, quality control tests on pavement layers at sites and in laboratory of road projects, quality assurance including construction manual with construction methodology, sequence of construction, project monitoring and compilation of test results in reports, etc., during detailed engineering studies and construction supervision of highways. He is adept in structural and functional evaluation of pavements, pavement design and maintenance of pavements. He has a proven track record in application of geo-synthetics in bituminous overlays as reinforcement and reflection crack prevention material. He also has knowledge of HDM and other pavement management programs. His experience encompasses several prestigious highway projects and maintenance management projects.

  Principal Engineer

  A post graduate structural engineer, he has five years of experience in R&D related to pre-cast pre-stressed concrete structures and bridges. He also has experience in finite element analysis and design of pre-stressed concrete and steel bridges, cooling towers and pre cast construction of canals and intake structures. He has developed a computer program and methodology for modeling pre-stressing force in finite element analysis of pre-stressed concrete structures. He has also developed a super parametric cable finite element for modeling pre-stressing force and stiffness of pre-stressing cable in finite element analysis of pre-stressed concrete structures and an 8-noded shell element, with capacity to move midside nodes to accommodate discrete pre-stressing cable elements. He is proficient in computer-aided design of structures using STAAD, ANSYS, COSMOS/M and MSC/NASTRAN.

He has managed major investment studies, bus rapid transit studies, transit initiative plans, light rail studies and several other projects. He has also worked as project engineer in assignments involving traffic signal design, impact analysis, traffic and pedestrian volumes, parking and travel-time studies. He is adept at deploying software like AutoCAD, STORMCAD, TRANSYT-TF, HCS, HCM/Cinema, STAAD etc. He is also experienced in the arenas of structural analysis and urban planning.

  A transport economist, BOT expert and traffic engineer with post-graduate qualifications in economics and business administration, he has over 24 years of professional experience. He has carried out socio–economic and demography analysis, traffic surveys, traffic projections, accident analysis, economic feasibility analysis, sensitivity analysis, BOT analysis and commercial risk analysis for various projects such as highways, IWT, railways, airports, ports, tourism infrastructure, rural roads and planned urban spaces. He also has experience in compiling and managing traffic and road inventory data for highway projects. Besides, he has compiled and maintained classified traffic volume and accident data on time series basis for assessment of improvement requirements and capacity augmentation of road projects.

His range of expertise spans across intersection capacity analysis, traffic impact studies, access management studies, traffic management plans, roadway design, traffic signal designs, corridor studies, traffic operational analysis, intersection design, and air quality analysis. He is currently coordinating traffic access management and tolling strategies for the IT-Expressway in Chennai. He has completed traffic impact studies and designed road and signal improvements for several large business developments. He is experienced in the use of traffic simulation and modeling packages such as Synchro, Transyt 7F, Corsim, Tranplan, Tmodel, and QRS-II. He has undertaken feasibility studies, detailed engineering, proof consultancy, and lenders engineer projects in the capacities of design engineer, team leader and project manager. He has specialized skills in geometric design of highways and interchanges and has designed more than 1000km of roads. He is adept in the deployment of highway design packages viz. MX, Inroads and Civil CAD. He is also well versed in computer programming and computer aided design of highways. He has coordinated numerous topographic surveys, pavement investigations, soil investigations, road inventories, etc. He has successfully completed geometric design, pavement design, rate analysis and project costing for highway engineering projects.   A seasoned graduate civil engineer, he has more than seventeen years of experience in construction projects for major bridges, highways and other structures. He has successfully supervised the construction of prestigious projects like the 4-laning of Belgaum to Maharashtra border section of NH-4. His expertise includes design and supervision of well and pile foundations, as well as pre-cast, pre-stressed and post tensioning structures and bridges. He is conversant with MOST, IRC, IS specifications and FIDIC conditions of contract. He has ample exposure to quality control procedures of major structures and bridges besides flexible and rigid pavements. He also has vast experience in liasoning with clients and consultants regarding contractual obligations.

His Highway Geometric Design experience includes design of Horizontal and Vertical Alignment, Preparation of DTM, Plan, Longitudinal Profile, Super elevation, Cross-section generation, Pavement & Earthwork quantities generation including profile correction layers with the aid of latest sophisticated Highway CADD environment such as Mx (MOSS), InRoads, Autocad and Microstation.

  He is acquainted with international practices like AASHTO/ TRL/ IRC. His experience in Pavement Design includes design of Pavements using latest Indian and International practices like IRC, AASHTO, TRL and Austroads. He is also experienced in the design of Highway design elements like At-grade and grade separated Intersections, ROBs, Highway Drainage, Road Signs and Road marking, landscaping, Street lighting.

  He is conversant with Economic analysis of highway projects using HDM III and HDMQ developed by World Bank, preparation of Detailed Engineering Design Reports, Detailed Cost Estimates, Tender Documents and with various pavement and soil investigations like Benkelman Beam Deflection (BBD) testing, road roughness testing, road condition survey, road inventory, DCP testing, field density testing etc. He is totally aware of execution of highway construction works like embankment, subgrade, base and surface courses using the latest sophisticated equipment.

  He has over thirty-five years of professional experience in design; project planning, project preparation, construction supervision and rehabilitation work for Bridge, Multi-storeyed and industrial buildings.

  He has been involved in DPR preparation, design and construction supervision of more than 160 bridges and flyover projects in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand.

  His competencies include: selection of bridge site, collection and analysis of hydraulic data, selection of hydraulic parameters, preparation of detailed specifications, preparation of bills of quantities for sub-soil investigations, analysis of field data, selection of foundation type based on soil parameters, analysis and design of large span RCC, PSC superstructures, pier abutments, continuous bridge design of approach roads along with preparation of detailed working drawings, rehabilitation procedures for existing bridges and structure, cost estimates, technical specifications and tender documentation. His wide experience also covers detailed analysis, design and preparation of working drawings for commercial multi storeyed buildings and industrial buildings.

  He is conversant with national and international code of practice such as ASTM, ASHTOO, BS, JIS, BIS and IRC.

  During his tenure with the government he was responsible for liasoning with various govt. and non-govt. agencies for approval of the projects, overall planning and implementation of Toll Collection system of bridges, finalisation of tendors for collection and management of toll revenue for Bridge Development Fund.
